Natural almond

Almond

I discovered almond notes during the development of L'Instant Magic which is a perfume containing an overdose of white musks. It is worked in the Guerlain style, dressed with very beautiful natural raw materials. I call this accord the musquinade. These white musks are haloed by notes of almond, punctuated by Bulgarian rose on a woody base with a very beautiful natural sandalwood. I developed this perfume with Randa Hammami, perfumer at Symrise, who introduced me to the natural almond note.

I really like the almond note found in tonka bean and therefore in its main constituent, coumarin. It is also found in heliotropin, which reminds me of the white glue of my childhood. Have you ever smelled the heliotrope flower? This little blue flower has a delicious scent of vanilla and rice powder, slightly almondy. It is very fragile and I have always had a hard time growing it on my balcony. This almond note is a marvel, far from the bitter tasting anisic aldehyde.
